ONTARIO VACATION ATTRACTIONS ALMAGUIN HIGHLANDS

The Forgotten Trail attraction in South River, Ontario, Canada that is part of the Trans Canada Trail Parks system has cycling, hiking trails and canoe routes. Travel to a day of adventure and fun at Stewart Coughlin Riding Ranch in South River, enjoy a Canadian Winderness Trip or visit Northern Edge Algonquin Retreat & Awareness Centre. Travel to Lake Bernard in Sundridge north of Muskoka to High Rock Lookout Park and enjoy bird watching and several hiking trails. Natural Heritage is offered at the Seguin Trail that has been cut laterally across the Canadian Shield. The trail's topography varies from flat to rolling with higher areas often featuring exposed precambrian geology.

In February enjoy the Katrine winter carnival for a fun day. In July Sundridge offers the Almaguin Music Festival. In August South River in the Near North also has the Festival of the Arts. Screaming Heads is located in Burks Falls north of Huntsville Muskoka. The Artist has been visited by CBC TV and Toronto Star and has twice been featured on the popular travelogue "On The Road Again" An Amazing adverture for all Tourists to enjoy. After visiting Screaming Heads go along the Magnetawan River Road #520 to the Burks Falls Welcome Centre and the footbridge over the river. Sit and relax enjoy a coffee, hot chocolate and fudge.

The museum in Callander, Ontario is in the Original Home and Practice of Dr. Allan Roy Dafoe. Dr. Dafoe is the famed Doctor of the Dionne Quintuplet. The museum has on display many artefacts from North Himsworth township, including Logging, Hockey and Trains. For our Summer Exhibit the Museum will be show casing local Water Colour Artists.
